David H. Bartick was born in Los Angeles, and raised in Orange County, California.
Mr. Bartick graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a double degree in
political science and psychology, and he was an intercollegiate letterman on the boxing team.
Mr. Bartick interned for the National Legal Aid and Defenders Association in Washington, D.C.
He obtained his law degree in June of 1985 from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
Mr. Bartick is a certified criminal law specialist, and his law firm is devoted exclusively to the defense of individuals and corporations who are charged with the commission of a criminal offense. He practices in both State and Federal Courts throughout the United States.
Mr. Bartick has litigated some of the most complex and serious cases to be prosecuted in the United States. These cases have included Operation Casablanca, the largest international money laundering case ever prosecuted in the United States, The As Bandit, the largest bank robbery case ever prosecuted in the Southern District of California, and the Russian Boat Case, in which Mr. Barticks client was acquitted of all charges in the largest maritime drug seizure (ten tons of cocaine) in the United States.
Mr. Bartick has litigated death penalty cases including a high profile DNA murder case which received international recognition and was featured on ABC television 20/20, and is the basis of more than one published novel. Mr. Bartick also represented cartel leader Francisco Javier Arellano Felix (El Tigrillo) in one of the first federal death penalty prosecutions in the Southern District of California. He is a legal analyst and commentator for various newspapers, magazines and national television networks.
Mr. Bartick has been a part time judge with the San Diego County Superior Court for more than fifteen years. He is also an elected member of the Carmel Valley Community Planning Board. Mr. Bartick is married, has two children who are presently in college, and he resides in the Carmel Valley community of San Diego.
