Pointing From the Grave, A True Story of Murder and DNA.

Author Samantha Weinberg, pg. 255.

The Frediani case was David Barticks fourth murder. Bartick's practice represented people accused of a wide range of crimes; corporations and drug dealers, bankers charged with money laundering, judges with domestic violence and domestic cleaners accused of murder. Unusually for a defense attorney, he commands respect across the board; from his peers, DAs, policemen, journalists. He is always busy, but makes it a point to devote as much energy to each of his clients, whatever their crime and whatever their circumstances. He is known as a professional - who fights hard, without ever crossing the line, or compromising his ethics. His first loyalty, however, is always to his client.

Bartick argued that Munoz was an unwitting tool of the drug trade. She was set up, he told jurors... San Diego Union Tribune, Ailing Boy Gets Wish to See His Jailed Dad

The boy lives in a Chicago boarding school with 24-hour medical care. Doctors say muscular dystrophy has taken away his ability to breathe normally, to eat normally, even to lift his arms. His dying wish - his only wish - was to see his father who is awaiting trial in San Diego jail in a 15-year old slaying... This week, after months of efforts by attorney [David Bartick], and with the approval of a federal judge, that wish came true...
